Goffsland Farm is a Caravan and Motorhome Club Certificated Location at Shipley, five miles south of Horsham. It takes five touring caravans or motorhomes and no more, and it stays open through the winter.

Open all year
A winter pitch that is not a mud bath
Plenty of small sites shut at the end of October and open again at Easter. This one does not. Four of the five pitches have hard standing underneath the grass, which is the reason vans can be taken here in January as easily as in July.
It changes what the place is for. A winter stay here is a walking base: bare hedges, the cattle in the yards, the footpaths quiet, and a pub at the end of one of them. The Sussex Weald in February is a genuinely good thing to have to yourself.
If you are looking specifically for CL sites open all year, this is one of them, and it is worth ringing early for the Christmas and New Year weeks.

What a Certificated Location actually is
A Certificated Location is a small site licensed by the Caravan and Motorhome Club, usually on a farm or in a private garden, permitted to take no more than five caravans or motorhomes at a time. Because it stays under that limit it does not need a full site licence, which is why CLs tend to be simple, cheap to run and quiet.
Practically, it means three things. You need to be a Club member. You get a field rather than a resort. And you will almost certainly be sharing it with fewer than four other vans.
What you get here on top of that is a 250-acre working farm around you, with a pedigree Sussex herd and a real farming year, and a farmhouse that has been standing since Ann Goff lived here in 1604.

Horsham is five miles north, with trains to London and Gatwick. Gatwick Airport is roughly thirty minutes by car. The South Downs and the Sussex coast are about twenty minutes south. More on what is nearby.
